Eliza's Story

Life After I graduated from high school, I was married in 1965 to Mike Hester. We had two sons, Michael jr. and John. We lived in Bell when we were first married and after Michael was born we moved to Cudahy for awhile then lived in Bell. After that we moved to Downey and that's where we lived for 18 years till Mike and I divorced in 1984. After that I married Dan Marquez and we lived in Norwalk. We both worked at Stox resturant in Downey. I worked there for 15 yrs. and Dan was the Ex. Chef there for 25 yrs. We then bought our own resturant in 1988 in Colorado, the state I left my heart in. And that went really well in fact we were wrote up with a nice article in the Rocky Mountain newspaper about our resturant till we decided to sell it and move back so Danny can be close to all of his family. So we bought our home we now live in, in Norwalk and have been here since. I started to work for Savons Drug store for 13 years till I had gotten hurt several times and was out on workers'comp. till I had to retire on a disability. My goal is to be able to find the ability to live back in Colorado to the western slope in Paonia. It's the most wonderful place ever anyone can live in. Small town living. I loved it. Slight snow and quiet. And also the wildlife and the flowers...Expand for more
and greenery was wonderful. I have 2 grandchildren from Michael and his wife Rita. They are the loves of my life and what keeps me here in Calif. But my heart is still in Paonia. And I want so to live there again. Mike Hester died in 2003 from complications of diabetes. I miss him very much for we remained friends for a long time. When I think of him I always tear up, I still loved him in a different way. He is the father of my boys. I would like to keep in touch with as many class members as possible and find out how their lives took them to from Bell Gardens High. I find it interesting. I have 2 dogs that are small Cotons. They are a rare breed and very cute. I also have a siamese cat I've been trying to get rid of for years but she insists on living with us. She bugs more then anything probably because she's siamese. I now own a canary that sings so loud you could hear it for blocks. I love canarys. Went to our class reunion in 2005 in July. Had a blast, everyone should really try hard to go to these. It's so great connecting with all our "old" friends. We always have one in October in Arkansas and it's a beautiful state to go and see and have a reunion. Lynda Rodgers always goes over her 100 percent on these. We have a blast and a real good time.

Burned over a week and still hurts bad. And I'm left handed did it boiling humming bird sugar water. Very painful.
Stolen. Keep your eye out for vintage motorcycles they are rare. The people lived in Bel air. 1914 vintage. Two men broke into the home and tied up the owners of the rare vintage motorcycles.
You just can't have anything.
Stolen, 1914 vintage motorcycle from Bel Air couple. Sad to as they will probably use it for scraps.
Mmm, happy St. Patricks day. Best chef in the world is Dan my husband.
I used to walk on Eastern ave. Past this car lot each day, I would dream someday I could own this same color and kind, 56 Ford. Ioved it. On my way to the doctors I see a neighbour own it. I'm sad. It was good to see after
Here's another angle of my dream car.
